Call of Duty to return to Steam with Modern Warfare 2

Activision Blizzard has revealed that the latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise will be coming to PC.

The upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be coming to Valve’s platform when it is released on October 28th, with Activision promising a “fully optimised experience”.

This makes it the first entry in the shooter to come to Steam since 2017’s WWII; from Black Ops IIII onwards, Call of Duty titles have launched exclusively on Blizzard’s Battle.net platform.

Moving to its own platform seemed to have some initial success. For one, Activision claimed that sales of Black Ops IIII were three times higher than Black Ops 3

It seems that Modern Warfare 2 and future Call of Duty games will be launching on Battle.net, too.

To date, the Call of Duty series has shifted over 425 million premium copies and has generated over $30 billion in revenue since its 2003 debut. Over 125 million people have played free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone, too.
