Stalker 2 bumped into 2023

The eagerly anticipated Stalker 2 has been delayed until 2023.

The studio showed a new story trailer during Xbox and Bethesda’s livestream yesterday (Tuesday, June 14th), in which it revealed that the game was going to be delayed to next year.

Staff from GSC World also laid bare what it is like to live in Ukraine right now – while some were able to relocate to Prague in the Czech Republic, not all employees were able to leave the country. Devs describe their working day starting with bomb sirens – or having air raid sirens being heard “around the clock” – running to shelters, and living and working in corridors and bathrooms.

Animator Oleksandr Levchenko – from the city of Maripol – describes not having heard from his parents since the war began.

“It is an indescribable horrible feeling, not knowing whether your loved ones are alive,” he said.

Some staff have taken to volunteer work during the conflict, while others have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The video ends with a link to United 24, an initiative set up by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy to raise funds to support the country’s defence against Russia. You can find out more here.
